Nerd Design is a Colorado-based design firm that offers print and Web design services for businesses, non-profits, and individuals.

The story of Nerd Design really begins in 2002 when current Nerd Design designer Ryan Lowery, along with his father Greg Lowery, co-founded New Skin Media Group, an advertising, marketing, and design firm. In 2003, they changed the company’s name to Lowery Media.

In 2006, Greg stepped down from his role in the day-to-day operations in the company to peruse his solo music career. Ryan continued to run Lowery Media on his own, until the summer of 2009 when he was joined by a very talented designer, Douglas Gilchrist, and the company’s name was changed to Watervale Media.

In 2010, Ryan, along with Jake Dykes, co-founded Rent a Nerd—a computer repair services business. In March of 2011, Ryan and Doug decided to merge Watervale Media with Rent a Nerd's parent company, Nerd Corp. The result was the birth of Nerd Design.
